Ian Stewart McIntosh
Born in Scotland, Ian McIntosh has lived in Africa and Great Britain. He served in the British Army during the Second World War, then in occupied Japan and India during the partition years. In 1948 he transferred to Southern Rhodesia and experienced key events in that country’s history, including the Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) and the transition to Zimbabwe.
Paul Lalonde
Paul Lalonde is a writer and genealogist in Toronto, Canada. He has followed his family roots throughout Canada, USA, UK, Australia and Africa. He is currently researching a book on Frank Stewart McIntosh – Paul’s great-grandfather and Ian’s uncle – about his First World War experience with the Australian Light Horse.
